Independent Social Worker (ISW) Assessment
ISW assessments are conducted by independent social workers who are not directly involved with the case to provide unbiased evaluations and recommendations regarding matters related to child welfare, such as parental capacity, risk assessment, and permanency planning. These assessments are often requested by courts, child welfare/social care agencies, solicitors, and other parties involved in child protection proceedings or during pre-proceedings to inform decision-making and ensure the best outcomes are made prioritising child safety.
